New Year 2014

Cheers to 2014! We all know that 2013 had not been so good to us because of a lot of bad happenings. There's this war and earthquake and super typhoon and really, it was so bad. It has been pretty good tho'. There may have been bad events but there were also a lot of good events. We were challenged as an individual and as a nation. We fell, we stood up, we survived and we learned. And now we're celebrating the start of another year. New year, new life, new experiences and new lessons will come to us. All of these were made possible by God. This is the beginning of a new chapter. Let's make this year a memorable one. God bless us all. Happy New Year!

The Fault in our Stars

"Electric... Filled with staccato bursts of humor and tragedy." -Jodi Picoult

My friends have asked me to read this book called The Fault in our Stars which is written by John Green. At first I was like, "I'm sorry I'm reading something" or "I'm busy". But they really want me to read it. So, why not?

It's a very nice book, really. It was kind of a love story for young teens. So many lessons about life were also in that book. All I can say is that it's all about what teenagers feel at this exact stage we are in. Maybe not of all teens, but of some.

"It's a metaphor, see: You put the killing thing right between your teeth, but you don't give it the power to do its killing." -John Green (stated by Augustus Waters in the book)

Sem Break

Photo Location: Lalaguna Beach Brgy. Marikaban, Tingloy Batangas, Philippines

After 4 months of school- endless home works and school works, endless noise and activities, sem break is officially here!

Last October 24, we ended our 1st semester in our school. It also marked the beginning of our sem break (Finally!). It was a one-week-break from school which means we can go to places we want to go. In addition, this break enabled people to go to the cemetery in celebration of the all saints' and souls' day.

Our whole family spent this break in Batangas. We visited our grandparents in the cemetery and we went swimming after. The photo above is where we spent half a day of swimming and sun bathing. We also had fun with our childhood friends there who never forget us. Some of our grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins were there too. So basically, 'twas a fun experience once again. We didn't even have wifi for one week but we still enjoyed. Our skin was tanned because of the sun shining so bright. On November 3, we went back home here in Manila.

We left so soon, but we enjoyed. Our stay there was worth while. I'm hoping that we would be able to go back there on our summer vacation. :-)

Time

Time can change anything and can even change EVERYTHING.

As Time Passes

Once upon a rainy day
I came to class and they said "Hey"
You sat near the front row
And your name, I wanted to know

You're white, tall and charming
And every girl wanted you
You came in front and you were dancing
I was charmed but you never knew

Time came and I felt something
My heart was rapidly beating
To be your partner was my decision
In our play, you became my inspiration

As time passed we were this close
We can be best friends, who knows?
And now we're almost at this stage

Friends and Sweets

INGREDIENTS OF A GOOD SET OF FRIENDS:

1 cup of kindness
1 teaspoon of imperfection
10 mg of fun
4 cups of good influence
5 ml of inspiration
1 bowl of love

They were just somebody and someone in our class. I never thought that they would mean a lot to me. Though my best friends aren't with me all the time, at least these people always stay by my side. In times of happiness we enjoy with each other. When one feels like falling down, we hold each others' hands, pick them up and let them stand again. That's what friends are for.

INGREDIENTS OF CREAM CHEESE FROSTING:

two 8 ounce packages of cream cheese, 1/4 cup (half a stick) of butter, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract and 3-4 cups powdered sugar.

PROCEDURE:

You need the cream cheese and butter to be slightly softened, so you can either leave it out on the counter for a few hours or nuke it in the microwave for 20 seconds. Beat together the softened cream cheese and butter until creamy. Add in the vanilla extract and beat for another 30 seconds. Now start adding the powder sugar 1 cup at a time and beating in between each addition.

"A simple line can make you laugh... or cry."
Flying Without Wings by Westlife

"I love you, but..." & "But, I love you." are two statements that consist of the same words but have two very different meanings.

See, if your special someone tells you he loves you but it won't work, will you be happy? Well of course not. It's like he loves you, yes he does, but there's something stopping him. Maybe he loves you just as a friend or maybe he wants to save the friendship. You would never know, unless he tells you. Generally, this statement would make you cry.

If your special someone tells you ...but, he loves you, then you're a lucky girl. What he wants to tell is that even though you're this one or that one, he'll love you no matter what. In short, he accepts you. Smile, he loves you.

When words in a statement are rearranged, it will form another statement with another meaning. Worse is that the meaning could be the opposite of the meaning of the original arrangement of the statement. Who would've expect, two statements that consist of the same words could either make you laugh or cry. Well, you better watch your statements, specifically the arrangement of words. ;)
